PJM’s New Planning Page Improves Project Transparency

October 19, 2020 by PJM

PJM has improved its Planning page on pjm.com as part of an ongoing effort to enhance transparency for project developers and others visiting the site to track current and proposed transmission projects.

The interactive data charts now are updated on a more frequent basis. These include the Queued Generation Fuel Mix and Active Studies charts, for example, which indicate what type of generation resources are in development and their status within the interconnection study process. This new wide-screen, mobile-friendly page, which went live Sept. 30, has a cleaner look and feel.

The updated Planning page is among several improvements made to pjm.com since 2018 to provide the most up-to-date, transparent information about transmission projects in the region PJM serves.

Last fall, PJM released a searchable and filterable Project Status & Cost Allocation page which provides expanded detail about transmission upgrades, including materials from stakeholder meetings, related projects and competitive planning process information.

The Planning page includes sections about approved RTEP projects, the competitive planning process, generation interconnection requests by fuel type, and more.

PJM encourages feedback on the new Planning page, and stakeholders can learn more about future updates to pjm.com through the Tech Change Forum.
